Welcome to the Leicestershire Golf Club. We are a friendly and inclusive section and whether you are an experienced golfer or a complete beginner you will find a warm welcome.
For Ladies who are new to golf we hold coaching sessions alongside our club Professional and will support any Lady wishing to take up this wonderful sport on their journey.
As a section we run a variety of competitions specifically for Ladies on Tuesdays. Ladies are also encouraged to enter the club competitions on Saturdays, and we have friendly mixed roll ups on Monday mornings throughout the year enabling Ladies to enjoy a social round. From November onwards we hold a winter league on Tuesdays alongside a 9-hole competition and Ladies are also welcome to participate in the Clubs winter league held on a Saturday. During the winter months a fun Wednesday competition is run by one of our male members and many Ladies participate in this too, as again it is an opportunity to make new friends and improve their golf.
As a section we have around 12 friendly matches with other clubs, these alternate each year between home matches and away matches, a great way of playing different courses. We compete in both the Leicestershire Scratch and Handicap Leagues and in the Ladies County and Mixed County foursome competitions.
Our junior section has several girl golfers, and they are welcomed into our competitions during school holidays or whenever they can join in.
We play a couple of competitions with our Senior men's section and will be running our "Solheim" event again this year which includes players from all the Club's sections.
Our Ladies Open is on 16th April - please do enter and try our course!
